How do you get paid to do what you love?

I love crafts. I love giving my ideas and trying others ideas and tweaking it to my liking. How in the world do I get paid to do this. I often thought about attempting to hire myself out for childrens parties.
While you see on tv all the wonderful parties people throw for children, most of them are for premium top dollar. I can recreate so much of it for less. I can throw a party for KIDS and every one of them will leave happy. I can do it on a budget, on time and with pizazzzz. 
I did pretty good this last year for parties. With all the decorations, cupcakes, pinatas and food. I never spent over $50. I would need to get paid for my time. Obviously no one would want to pay me $10 an hour.. but maybe there would be some one out there. First I would need a portfolio. But to have a portfolio I would have to have clients? Right?
I have a friend who is a baker. Two friends who can decorate cakes and cupcakes. A friend who does photography. Not that I couldnt do all this, but having help always makes things easier.

How much would you pay for a party planner? How much do they make? How much would you pay in the economy right now? Would you hire a fat lady? Would it be worth my time? How much time would it take me away from my family? Is it profitable? Ohhh the questions.

My First Post

I have so many things I could blog about. Crafts. Kids. Life. Thoughts. I dont know where to start. So I shall just do random topics whenever I feel like it. If I ever have followers, what do you want to know.
